A carpenter, bar manager, and gallery owner walk in to a bar..

Yes, it sounds like a joke but it’s true. A group of friends from diverse

professional backgrounds who all now work in the art world developed an idea

that originated during a conversation over a drink.

The art crates in which galleries deliver artwork are large, sturdy pieces of

furniture that are typically used for a one-time purpose of shipping an artwork.

My friend the carpenter often admired these crates that are beautifully crafted

from solid pine, and wondered how these can be repurposed and not simply

discarded. This is how Momentum Originals was born.

Crates that were meant for one-time use and shipped expensive artworks

through international ports are now appreciated in a new way: an old school

record cabinet with contemporary wireless technology, a suprise bespoke bar

Each crate is part of an edition of 100 and is numbered and comes with their own

their own unique past and story.
